6 березня 2026 року відбулось засідання Пленуму Профспілки робітників морського транспорту України. Серед інших питань в ході засідання було заслухано виступ виконавчого секретаря Федерації професійних спілок транспортників Олександра Шубіна з питання «Про позицію та дії Федерації профспілок транспортників в контексті проведення реформи трудового законодавства України».


In his speech, the speaker outlined the main parameters of the draft Labor Code registered in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, emphasizing its importance in the context of ensuring Ukraine's accession to the European Union, highlighted its advantages and disadvantages compared to previous attempts to comprehensively revise Ukraine's labor legislation, and listed the main threats to maintaining the current level of protection of workers' labor rights, the risks of failing to fully implement European standards and rules for the representation of their interests by trade unions.
The Executive Secretary of Federation provided the members of the Trade Union Council with comprehensive information on the content and rationale of the key comments and proposals prepared by the Federation and addressed to the joint representative bodies of the social dialogue parties, government experts, the leadership of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, parliamentary factions and groups, relevant committees, and members of parliament. In addition, during the meeting, those present discussed other legislative initiatives concerning labor legislation and the representation of the socio-economic rights and interests of workers, the resolution of labor disputes, the development of social dialogue, ensuring fair pay, safety and health in the workplace, as well as strengthening the representation of Ukrainian seafarers through the Federation and increasing its effectiveness at the national and international levels.


Particular attention was paid to the efforts made by the MTWTU and the FTTU to accelerate the ratification and implementation into Ukrainian legislation of the provisions of the ILO Maritime Labour Convention, 2006 (MLC, 2006), as well as the European directives on port state control based on its provisions. In particular, thanks to the efforts of the trade union side, the relevant ministries prepared and submitted a package of legislative initiatives to the Head of State for consideration.
In his speech, Oleg GRYGORIUK, Chairman of the MTWTU and First Deputy Chairman Federation of the FTTU, informed the union activists about the measures being taken by the Federation's leadership in the above-mentioned areas and stressed the need to intensify this work in the context of the current difficult situation of Ukrainian workers as a result of the full-scale war and socio-economic challenges caused by the prolonged aggressive invasion of Ukraine. economic challenges caused by the ongoing aggressive invasion of Ukraine.
