Regarding a meeting with the Representative of the Commissioner for Social and Economic Rights

On April 3, a working meeting was held between the leadership of the Federation of Trade Unions of Transport Trade Unions of Ukraine (FTTU) — Oleg GRIGORYUK, First Deputy Chairman the Federation and Chairman of the MTWTU, and Alexander SHUBIN, General Secretary of the FTTU — and Olena KOLOBRODOVA, Representative of the Commissioner for Social and Economic Rights.

One of the key topics of discussion was the protection of workers' labor and socioeconomic rights.

During the meeting, the Ombudsman outlined the strategic priorities for 2026. Among the top priorities are employment for people with disabilities and the implementation of responsible business practices.

The Federation of Trade Unions of Transport Trade Unions of Ukraine emphasized that protecting workers’ rights, especially under martial law, remains a key priority. Oleg GRYGORIUK reported on the measures being taken by the Federation to protect the labor rights of its members, drawing particular attention to issues concerning the protection of maritime transport workers’ right to work. During the discussion, the importance of ratifying the Maritime Labour Convention, 2006 (MLC, 2006), as amended, was also addressed.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue their cooperation, including the organization of joint events.
