On June 5, 2026, the 19th joint meeting of the Ukraine-EU Civil Society Platform took place in Brussels, Belgium. Oleksandr Shubin, a member of the Platform and General Secretary of the Federation of Transport Trade Unions of Ukraine, participated in the event. During the event, he presented the Federation’s position on the process of reforming labor legislation, specifically the proposals and comments of the second-largest national trade union federation regarding the draft Labor Code of Ukraine registered in Parliament.
Following the event, the parties adopted a Joint Declaration, which included, among other things, proposals from the FTTU.
The meeting participants welcomed the lifting of reservations regarding the start of official negotiations on the negotiation clusters for Ukraine’s accession to the EU and emphasized the readiness of civil society organizations to support these negotiations.
